Reluctant sale of our 1973 Mk 2 Stag $30,000.00 Robin SearleOakville, ON 8/1/2025 8:24:20 AM
1973 Mark 2 Triumph Stag Signal Red for sale $30,000. Due to age-related mobility [84 years young] problems Purchased in 2009 from Tony Fox in as-is condition. The engine ran, but I noticed a transmission leak from the BW 35 auto gearbox, caused by the fluid overflow pipe not being connected. A decision was made to rebuild the Stag completely, including all of its mechanical and electrical systems, as well as a bare-metal body paint. The engine was completely rebuilt in 2012, including the rehardening and overhaul of the crank, with new pistons, sleeves, and bearings being fitted, along with a total head rebuild. The transmission was replaced with a ZF 4HP 4-speed automatic transmission from Russell Lewis in the UK. Carbs were replaced with Holley units, and simultaneously, the exhaust manifold was completely ceramic-coated There was no rust on the car, but as a carryover from owning our previous 1963 TR3A in concurs condition, I had all the original paint on the Stag removed and taken back to bare metal, then 100% repainted by an expert recommended by a fellow member. Stag had been undercoated before it was repainted. All original wiring harnesses were replaced throughout the Stag, including the main harness. The fuse panel was replaced with breakers, and all bulbs were upgraded to LED's. Additionally, running lights were added to the two outer headlights, which are connected to the ignition circuit, allowing them to turn on with the key. Two new front brake discs and rear brake shoes were fitted. At the same time, CV joints were fitted to the rear drive train. Leather dash covering and rebuilt seat covers were added; simultaneously, all driving instruments were rebuilt and recalibrated by Nisongers in NY before being put out of business by a flood. Stag had been undercoated before it was repainted. A new soft top was fitted in 2012, and a rear BoScreen was fitted. Three years later, a custom-made canopy top was created that extended from the windscreen to the BoScreen, allowing for driving in any wet weather. In 2024, I had all paintwork and glass treated using Graphene, which repels water and provides a permanent deep shine. Robin Searle r_searle@cottagecountry.net 289 837 3221
